D Day minus 96

Note to self. Things to worry about in 2018. Trump v North Korea and everyone else he comes into contact with. And my relationship with my GPS . But clearly the bloody GPS lied when telling me I only rode 105 km yesterday. And it made absolutely no effort to avoid a huge range of mountains, plotting a route right over the top of them, knowing full well I suffer from vertigo and an irrational fear of mountain goats. And I’m supposed to follow the bloody thing blindly all the way to Cape Town next year. Alas.

But looking for positives, apart from making some very alarming noises over the top of the Tsatsi Pass, I did okay on the supposed 105 km, five hour ride. And if I had mouth to mouth and performance enhancing drugs for lunch, I reckon I could have pushed on for the other 35 kilos needed to reach our daily Cape Town target distance. So Day One on the CT ride should be no problem. Days Two through to Twenty Five not so much though. Crap. Better add them to my worry list.

Cape Town Is Calling

Cape Town Is Calling

Cape Town is certainly calling! Perhaps this song by Ossie could be our theme track for the 3,200km we have to cover?
